2008 CAMPERS ON MISSION FALL REPORT
North Ga District – Richard Beam, director

The northern district provided work weeks at Camp Pinnacle, Camp Hawkins and Truett McConnell College.

The second week was cancelled for Truett McConnell due to schedule conflicts.

Richard and Marcia assisted George and Marla Anthony for a week in July at Camp Hawkins and fell in love with those
special need campers. DUE TO HEALTH PROBLEMS, George and Marla can no longer continue as facilitators at Camp Hawkins. A couple is needed to replace them as facilitators. Please pray for that need to be filled.

Two new projects were initiated in addition to our regular assignments.

a)       SetFree Ministries in Lumpkin County requested help in finishing sheetrock for a men’s dorm. Jim Shiver, Jim Allison and Richard Beam worked on that for about four days. Besides completing several rooms, we were delighted to be able to train one of the residents how to finish sheet rock, which he learned quickly and was soon working on his own.
b)      Source Of Light Ministries in Morgan County requested assistance in the demolition of a 50-year-old metal structure to make room for a second story addition. Joe Farquar, C.O. & Darlene Myers and Richard and Marcia Beam participated in that project with much success. A second work-week is being scheduled for November the 16th to continue with that project.

Work opportunities continue at the Toccoa Conference Center. Individuals may visit there as available. Nell Lanier is the contact person.

Our thanks to all who participated in the 2008 work and ministry projects from the Northern District!

COM-LED REVIVAL: EBENEEZER BAPTIST CHURCH; TOOMSBORO, GA

Revival Dates: July 27-29.  Attendance was good.  We had good music and singing, good preaching, and wonderful fellowship.  We stayed at Scenic Mountain RV Park in Milledgeville - a nice park but it was VERY hot during the day.  Bro. Paul led us in an excellent daily Bible study in the book of Mark.

CAMP PINNACLE

Georgia Campers on Mission decended on Camp Pinnacle again this year to help with the preparation of the facility for the 2008 girls Summer camp.  About seven couples attended to work and did a fabulous job.  The men did all kinds of maintenance jobs and the ladies cleaned the old cabins again.  The first work day the ladies cleaned and made beds in the lodge saving them $20.00 per room as that would have been what the camp would have paid to clean each room.

Two of the old duplex buildings are scheduled to be demolished after Summer camp as enough money is available to construct two more new cottages like the one completed last year.
